Welcome to the support documentation for the Subscriber Manager for Telegram plugin. These support documents cover both the Lite and Pro versions of the plugin.
If you’ve just installed the plugin and now setting it up, you’re in the right place. Before you get going, check the prerequisites below, followed by the recommended next steps.
Prerequisites #
In order to use the Subscriber Manager for Telegram plugin you’ll need the following:
- WooCommerce installed and setup on your WordPress site.
- WooCommerce set to use High Performance Order Storage (HPOS), or compatibility mode. Legacy mode should still work, but is not recommended.
- The Subscriber Manager Lite for Telegram or Subscriber Manager Pro for Telegram plugin installed and activated.
- A Telegram bot. The bot is used for controlling user membership to your the private channels or groups, among other tasks.
- A private Telegram channel or group with your bot already invited to the channel or group.
This guide does not cover the above and assumes you’ve already set these up. If you already have a private Telegram channel or group, but no bot, you can follow the Telegram guide here on how to set one up. Make sure to record your bot token and the bot’s url as you’ll need these during the setup.
If you don’t already have a private Telegram channel or group, you can create one from within the Telegram app.
Supported Subscription Plugins #
Subscriber Manager Pro works with multiple subscription backends:
- WooCommerce Subscriptions (Automattic) — fully supported, including Simple Subscription products.
- Flexible Subscriptions by WP Desk — supported since v1.6.0, all lifecycle features included.
- No subscription plugin — use Simple products with optional timed access expiry.
All of the above also support Variable products — configure different Telegram channel access per variation (since v1.7.0). See Link a Channel or Group to a Variable Product.
The plugin detects which subscription plugin is active automatically. You do not need to configure this. For setup details, see Link a Channel or Group to a Subscription Product.
Managing Subscribers #
Once orders start flowing, the Subscribers tab under Settings > Telegram Subscriber Manager shows all your Telegram subscribers with their channel memberships and statuses. View details, sync live Telegram status, and take admin actions like removing or banning users.
See Managing Your Subscribers for a full walkthrough of the subscriber table, search, filtering, and admin actions.
Next Steps #
Follow these steps to get the plugin setup and connected to your bot, and linking your products to your private channels or groups.
